Terms of Service

This is the agreement between you and Y3NKO. It explains what we do, what you pay, how cancellations work, and who is responsible for what.

Last updated: 5 September 2026

Please note. Y3NKO has not opened to the public yet. These terms describe how the platform works today and are being reviewed by qualified counsel before our first paid booking. If anything here is unclear, email contact@y3nko.travel and ask — we will answer in writing.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Y3NKO (“we”, “us”, “the Platform”) runs a website that helps people find and book events, activities, places to stay and restaurant tables in Ghana. Our full identity is at the foot of this page.

These terms apply to everyone who uses the Platform: guests who book, hosts who list, and anyone simply browsing. By creating an account or making a booking you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the Platform.

Hosts are also bound by the Host Agreement, which sits on top of these terms.

2. What we do, and what we do not do

We are an intermediary. We do not own, run, staff or inspect any of the venues, properties, events or restaurants listed on the Platform. Hosts and operators do that.

When you book, you enter into a contract for the service with the host. Our contract with you is for the booking service itself: showing you the listing, taking your payment, confirming the booking, and handling cancellations and refunds under these terms.

Listing content — descriptions, photographs, prices, capacity, house rules — is supplied by hosts and published by them. We approve every host before they can list, and we check their identity documents, but we do not independently verify each claim in each listing.

3. Event venues are a directory, not a booking

Event venues work differently from everything else on the Platform. Venue listings are a directory: they show you the space and give you the venue’s own contact details so you can approach them directly.

You do not book a venue through us, you do not pay us for a venue, and we take no fee on a venue hire. Anything you agree with a venue is strictly between you and them. We are not a party to it, we hold none of your money, and the cancellation and refund terms below do not apply to it.

4. Your account

  • You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account.
  • The information you give us at registration must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for anything done through your account.
  • Tell us straight away at contact@y3nko.travel if you think someone else has access to your account.
  • You need a verified email address before you can book.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why.

5. What you pay

Every booking has three parts, and all three are shown to you before you pay:

  • The host’s price. The nightly rate, ticket price or cover charge the host has set, multiplied by the nights, tickets or guests you selected.
  • Our service fee — 10% of the host’s price. This is what we charge for running the Platform. It is added on top of the host’s price and is how we make our money. We do not take any commission out of what the host receives.
  • Taxes and levies — 12.5% of the host’s price. This is collected from you at checkout and is not the host’s money and not ours. It is shown on your receipt as a separate line.

The total of those three is what your card is charged. There are no other fees, and we do not add anything after you have paid.

6. Currency, and what your bank does

Hosts set their prices in Ghana Cedis (GHS), and every payment is taken in Ghana Cedis. That is the amount your card is actually charged and the amount that appears on your card statement.

If your account currency is set to US Dollars, we show you prices converted into US Dollars so you can judge what a booking costs. That conversion is a display convenience. It uses a market exchange rate that we refresh daily, and we record the rate that applied at the moment you booked so that any refund is worked out against the same number you saw.

Because the charge itself is in Ghana Cedis, your card issuer converts it using their own exchange rate and their own margin, and may add a foreign transaction fee. The amount your bank takes will therefore differ from the US Dollar figure we showed you, usually by a few percent. We have no control over and no visibility of your bank’s rate or fees.

7. Payment

Payments are processed by Paystack. We do not see or store your full card number — Paystack handles the card details directly.

A booking is not confirmed until payment has cleared and you have received a confirmation email with a booking reference. Until then the dates or tickets are not held for you.

You must not arrange payment with a host outside the Platform for a booking you started on it. It leaves you with none of the protection in these terms.

8. Cancellations and refunds

We set one cancellation policy. Hosts do not set their own. A host may add notes about their own arrangements to a listing; those notes do not override this policy.

  • Stays: full refund if you cancel 7 or more days before check-in; 50% refund 3 to 6 days before; no refund inside 3 days.
  • Event tickets, activities and restaurant reservations: full refund if you cancel 48 or more hours before the booking starts; 50% refund 24 to 48 hours before; no refund inside 24 hours.

A refund returns that percentage of everything you paid — the host’s price, our service fee and the taxes and levies, all at the same percentage.

The full detail, including what happens when a host cancels on you and how to complain, is in the Cancellation and Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Your statutory cancellation rights

If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you normally have 14 days to change your mind about something bought online. That right does not apply to accommodation, transport, car hire, catering or leisure services booked for a specific date or period — which is almost everything on this Platform. This is a limit set by consumer law itself, not something we have chosen. The cancellation policy above applies instead, and it is more generous than the law requires in most cases.

Nothing in these terms removes your legal right to a remedy if a service is not provided with reasonable care and skill, is not as described, or is not provided at all.

9. Your behaviour on the Platform

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for anything unlawful.
  • Post false, misleading or fraudulent content, including fake reviews.
  • Harass, abuse or discriminate against anyone.
  • Take a booking off the Platform to avoid the service fee.
  • Scrape, copy or republish Platform content without our permission.
  • Interfere with how the Platform runs, or try to get access you are not entitled to.

You can report a listing you think breaks these rules using the report button on any listing page. We look at every report.

10. Reviews and content you post

You can only review a listing you actually booked and completed. This is enforced by the Platform, not by trust.

You keep ownership of anything you post — reviews, photographs, listing text. By posting it you give us permission to display and distribute it on the Platform and in our marketing of the Platform, without payment, for as long as your content is on the Platform. You are responsible for making sure what you post is yours to post.

We may remove content that breaks these terms, is unlawful, or is not a genuine account of a real booking.

11. If something goes wrong

Tell us. Email contact@y3nko.travel with your booking reference and what happened. We will look into it, contact the host, and tell you in writing what we can do.

Where a host does not provide what they advertised, we will work with you on a refund. Where a dispute is between you and a host about something we cannot verify, we will say so honestly rather than pretend to adjudicate it.

12. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for running the Platform with reasonable care and skill, for taking your payment correctly, and for applying the cancellation policy as written.

We are not responsible for the quality, safety or legality of what a host provides, because we do not provide it. We are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you booked, or for losses caused by something outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory legal rights under the law of the country you live in are not affected by anything in these terms.

13. Changing these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you we will email account holders and post a notice on the Platform before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page shows when it last changed.

Changes never apply retrospectively to a booking you have already paid for. That booking stays under the terms in force when you made it.

14. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the UK or the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country you live in, and you may also bring proceedings in your own country’s courts.
